1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of The MLKY Bar's website, online booking system, and the services we provide in studio. By creating an account, making a booking, or visiting us, you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Each account is for personal use by one individual — please don't book on behalf of others under your own account for services requiring individual consultation.

You're responsible for keeping your account and login details secure, and for any activity that happens through your account.

3. Bookings, cancellations & no-shows

Appointments can be made online or in studio. We ask that any cancellation or reschedule be made at least 24 hours before your appointment time, so we can offer the slot to another client.

Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in a request for a deposit on future bookings, or a decline of future online bookings at our discretion.

Please arrive on time — arriving significantly late may mean we need to shorten, reschedule, or reasonably reduce the scope of your service to stay on schedule for other clients.

4. Group bookings

Group bookings should be made through the group booking option so we can assign technicians and time slots correctly. Cancellation terms above apply to each guest in the group.

5. Pricing & payment

Prices for services are confirmed at the time of booking or consultation and may vary based on hair length, density, condition, or design complexity. We'll always confirm pricing with you before beginning a service if it differs from what was quoted online.

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed with our front desk.

6. Health, safety & patch tests

Please tell us about any allergies, sensitivities, skin or scalp conditions, or medical conditions relevant to your service when booking or during your consultation. Some services (including lash and laser treatments) may require a patch test before your first appointment — we'll let you know if this applies to you.

We reserve the right to decline or modify a service where proceeding would pose a health or safety risk to you or our team.

7. Inspiration photos & portfolio use

Photos you upload for custom services (such as a Custom Lash Set) are used only to prepare for your appointment and are shared only with your assigned technician. We will never post before/after photos of you publicly without asking for your separate, explicit permission first.

8. Client conduct

We want The MLKY Bar to be a calm, respectful space for every client and team member. We reserve the right to decline service or ask a client to leave in cases of abusive behaviour, or where a client's conduct puts our staff or other clients at risk.

9. Results & satisfaction

We take pride in our work and will always listen to feedback during your appointment. Natural hair, skin, and nail conditions vary, so exact results (e.g. lash retention, colour longevity) can differ between individuals based on aftercare and lifestyle. If you're ever unhappy with a service, please let us know within a reasonable time so we can make it right.

10. Age requirements

Certain services (including laser treatments and some lash/brow services) may have a minimum age requirement or require a guardian's consent for minors. We'll let you know if this applies when you book.

11. Liability

While we take great care in delivering our services, we are not liable for reactions arising from information you did not disclose to us (such as undisclosed allergies or conditions), or for issues arising from aftercare instructions not being followed.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date below reflects the latest update. Continuing to use our booking system or services after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Malawi. Our full data handling practices are set out in our Privacy Policy.
